The Feasibility of using Snoezelen within a Palliative care day setting: A Randomized Controlled Trial investigating the potential.

A Study Funded by a Wilkes Fellowship - Trent Palliative Care Centre

Aims of the study

  1. To explore the potential use of Snoezelen environment within a palliative care day centre .
  2. To assess the potential for anxiety reduction in patients who access Snoezelen as opposed to those who access a normal quiet room setting.  To identify the potential numbers of patients who would be eligible to participate within such a study which will inform the design of a larger main study.
  3. To identify the required sample size in order to perform a power calculation, which will determine the number of patients required for a trial of the efficacy of Snoezelen.
